The first thing I see as I look into my crystal ball is a large business building: on the sign outside is written. Clay and Hayse, World-Famous Philanthropists, Gun Cnllcctors, and Loan Association. On another sign just below this is written, Buy your stamps, famous and rare guns and borrow money all in the same place. Here I find Senator Larry Caywood arguing with a group of senators about expenditures for the fiscal year of 1965. L.et's listen to his views ns on the matter. Oh, but that's ce ored. My crystal ball takes me next to Alaska. Once there I see that the National Guard has been called to active duty, for I see four familiar faces all singing You're in the Air Force Now Blues, another popular hit of 1964. These faces belong to none other than Roy Ashworth, Levoy Boling, Melvin Easler, and Horace McArthur. Next my crystal ball takes back to my old home town, Marietta, Georgia. I find that a large factory of some sort is being constructed here. From varied sources I find out that it is to be an ice cream plant, owned and operated by Phillip Hunt, better known as the Ice Cream King of Georgia. Not far from the construction site I see an office building. In one of the offices labeled Private I see Bebe Aubertine typing a letter as part of her job as private secretary to Phillip Hunt. Also in Marietta I see another place of business, Trulove's Television and Radio Repair Shop. It looks as though Roger followed his true love and became a success ful electrical engineer. My crystal ball now takes me out to the Lockheed plant in Marietta. Here at Loc kheed I find that Donald Owens has worked his way up the ladder until he has become one of the top officials. Next my crystal ball takes me to New York where I find that a new comedy team is just starting a series on television. This comedy team is made up of none other than those two famous comedians from Osborne High School, namely, Richard Beasley and Jerry Hansard. From there I go to the WAC Traniing Center. Here I see M Sgt. Helen Avery drilling some recruits, among them are Bettie McDowell and Inez Goodnight. SENIOR ACHIEVEMENTS GERALD LIVINGSTON-Entered '53, Beta Club 4, Class Play 3. After my visit to Paris I go. by way of my crystal ball. to Greenland to an Army base where secret testing of guided missiles is being carried on. During her four years here, she has coached teams that have won one county, one district, and two state championships. Next my crystal ball takes me to Mexico City where the Pan American Road Race has just been run. The win- ner for the third consecutive time is our own Richard Cunningham and his fast Ford coupe. Somewhere out in the Pacific my crystal ball picks up a ship. It looks as though the Navy got some of the boys of our Senior class. I recognize three of the crew members of the S.S.S. Tonic as being none other than Edw.n An- derson, Leonard Spencer. and Bobby Brown. My crystal ball takes me to Hollywood, California, where I find Laverne Gailey. The famous movie star is jtlsl beginning a new pictured entitled, Life With Luigi, co-starring in this picture is another Osbornite, namely. Wy- nclle Reece. My crystal ball takes me to Atlanta, Georgia, and the campus of Georgia Tech. Here I find none other than Jack Beavers, who is just back from a long stretch in the Air Force. It looks though he is living up to his word and has retuined to complete his education after a stretch in the Air Force. My crystal ball takes me to Lowery Air Force Base, Denver, Colorado. Here I find Major Ralph McBride just back from one hundred missions over China. The images of the Class of '55 fade as the crystal ball completes its task of telling the future. I'd like you to go through a regular school day with ine. The subjects I took were the ones most of the Sophornores took. The girls took home ec, or sci- ence, and the boys took biology, That was the main difference in our schedules. VVe all had to take Eng- lish world history, algebra or business arithmetic, one ol' the sciences. phys. ed., and some of us took Latin or Spanish. 'We all like literaturevbut. graniinar--that's a different story. In world history, we studied about inan and the world from prehistoric to modern tiines. Soine ot' us were hard to convince that you could add a and ls together and get c, We boys enjoyed biology- -especially when we fixed up the aquariuin. Phys. edt was lun. I really did like tuinbling. The Latin and Spanish students thought they had soine- thing on us, but I had enough trouble with English without taking a foreign language. So ends a Sophoinoies day. GEEK IT'S GREAT TO BE IN HIGH SCHOOLV' SAYS GAIL UNDERWOOD. Gailf called Mr. Rosser. Come here and I will explain that problem to you. I couldn't believe that I was really in high school. I felt that I belonged to a pretty special group, too. The Sth grade had a whole annex just to themselves. IVe all took the same subjects, but we changed classes, and we had five teachers. That was really something, because we had been accustomed to having one teacher for everything. We took English, geography, read- ine. health, and arithmetic. We especially liked health. We got to go outside when the weather wasirt bad. Mrs. Ehlert took us out occasion- ally. but our other classes were always held inside-reading the Readers Digest-working arithmetic problems-studying the parts of speech or some other phase of grammar. It was great. though. This-our hrst year in high school. .11,:fie'f 'A ' l -. T ' 1 UIQ' - l ' .ga Y sn, , 1 l , 9' - 3 Tj ja . . 'F 2 Ayr . ' Q4 up 7 R s THE f'H1LliPfl?,l,g9 agus '73'l4j .
