Kayettes Strivea' For 2000-Point Award With a strong sense of devotion to the ideals of service to school, city, and world, the Kayettes began the year. In accordance with school service, this year's club undertook such tasks as clean- ing the school lounges, hanging mirrors in the girls' restroom, and presenting each teacher with a personalized coffee cup. For local service projects the Kayettes provided fruit baskets, tray favors, and flowers to shut-ins, periodically visited the nursing homes, and helped beautify the city library. World service programs included the support of two Korean orphans and the pur- chase of and delivery of self-help tools to underdeveloped South American countries. Leading the various school, city, and world service programs were team captains Frances Platz, Nancy Marriott, Lois Manly, Mary Mattingly, Gail Perry, Connie Skeens, Martha Fowler, and Dana Dickson. This year the state Kayette organization celebrated its twentieth anniversary. lt has received outstanding service citations from the National Cerebral Palsy Associa- tion, the Logopedic Institute, C .A.R.E. and Meals for Millions. 73
