A formal appearance was posed by the black trousers with red and white stripes, topped by the powder blue jacket. The headdress was white fur, mounted with a red plume. Wearing their uniforms the band pre sented halftime programs at all home football games and par- ticipated in area parades. When mounting the platform for concert performances, O.l-I. S. band members donned their red and black Embassy ribbon and black bow ties. Their formal concert was pre sented to the public in April. Other musical groups that students par- ticipated in were the Pep Band, which helped to encourage school spirit, and the Dance Band. The Flute and Saxophone Quartets, along with the Brass and Clarinet Choirs, displayed their talents at various times during the school year.
