H.S. , who have up- held so firmly your ideals of leadership, scholarship, service, and character, this book is presented. When you read it, may the echoes of the past return to charm you. With the passing of time, the echoes of our school life will grow progressively fainter and then die away like the school- day memories of our grandparents. We hope that this i959 Echo will bring back mem- ories of fun, studies, parties, games, and friends. This team has presented such things as an interpre- tation ofthe Ten Commandments and pre-Easter services for O.H.S. students The team's captain is Lela Birchard. Appreciation for fellow students, our school, community, all religions, and all races is the goal set up by the Yellow Team. In Kayettes, yel- low stands for apprecia- tion. The team, captain- ed by Brenda Atwood, helps the Kayettes clean up our school and school grounds. Follow -the-Leader, might well be the motto of the Purple Team, for purple stands for leadership in Kayettes. Janet Brown, Captain, is demonstrating the leadership qualities which Kayettes strive to bring out in each girl. J Making posters for the Kay-Kay- ette drive to clean up our school and school grounds is but one ofthe pro- jects for the Kays. They also have projects for the community and the world. Among the projects for world service are: donating to Care, Red Cross, and Meals-for-Millions. ? i . Q if if Every year the Kays hold their an- nual pop-party. This party is for their membership drive. This year the Kays membership was larger than in any of the past years. This organiza- tion is open to any boy of O.H.S. and many opportunities for training in co operation, leadership, and good citi- zenship are offered to them. -5 1 2 'E Okay, freshie, push that penny, orders a Kay Each year the freshmen have to demonstrate their skills in an assembly sponsored by the Kays. The result is hilarious laughter from the upper- classmen and definite discomfort from the freshies. m ' ' ' N., 1' r I TRDI FRONT ROW: L. Giles, S. Buddenhagen, C. Gonterman, M. Stanley, L.
