Five sophomores were initiated as probationary members and four jun- iors as regular members. OC L MUSIC The first performance of the vocal music department was the opera, 'Down In the Val1ey,' starring jerry Gilles and Clarissa Loudermilk. The Christmas concert was highlighted with a candle-light processional and Ringwald's 'Song of Christmas.' A Program called 'Memories' was given with the band in March. The girls glee club and mixed chorus attended the state music contest in Mason City on May 7. Contest for solos and ensembles was held April 30, in Vinton. Director of the vocal music department was Mrs. Edgar Dorow.
