The Girls' Athletic Association is an organiza- tion formed by girls from all classes in Osage High School in order to promote sportsmanship, physical efficiency, and athletic accomplishments. Sixty girls, under the leadership of Mrs. Helen Kottman, participated in basketball, tumbling, volleyball, table tennis, archery, and performing on the trampoline. A play day was held in the fall, with girls from surrounding towns attending. In February 25 girls attended the I.S.T.C.play day at Cedar Falls. FIRST PLAC E S ENIORS In the annual intramural basketball tournament held in March, the seniors won the championship by defeating the juniors 27-25 in a double over- time. Judges for the all-school team were Mrs. Ira Larson, Mrs. C. T. Johnsten, Mrs. Lewis Lauter- bach, Mrs. Dean Timm, and Miss Janet Templernan. Officers for the vear were: Carol Olson, presi- dent, Laurel Venteicher, vice-president, Donita Ball, secretary, and Ann Penney and Pat Driscoll, point recorders. SECOND PLAC E .IUNIORS
