Four short years ago as freshmen these stu dents chose Patti Lewis ,Ioe Hennesey and Loxs Sorleln to be thelr class offlcers Servlng the class on the Student Council were Dale Ketelsen Mary Ann Krapek, and Laurel Ven telcher Pattl Lewxs Laurel Ventexcher and Henry Lunde partxclpated ln the all-school play Mlss Bertha Hanson and Mr Don Elbert were the class advlsors Durlng their sophomore year the class of 54 began to have prominent places ID dramatxc mu IC and athletlc events They also gathered more strength ln acadenuc subjects They chose Robert Bechtum Laurel Ventelcher and Mary Ann Krapek to lead them and Mary Lou Lewis Cralg Champion Robert Gunderson Mlnam Berg Carol Chrxstoffersen and Dale Ketelsen as repre sentatlves to the Student Councll Laurel Ven texcher Don Leonard, and Henry Lunde repre sented the class ln the all school play Sponsors were Mxss Ellen Lehr and Mr Lewis Lauterbach As jumors they began then' buslest year wlth much enthusiasm To lead them they chose Craig Champlon Dale Ketelsen and Karleen Ask Thelr float a huge papler-mache skunk wlth the banner We ll Skunk Em , took first place as dld their semor float a sailboat saying Saxlxng On To Victory Carol Chrlstoffersen Pattl Lewls Laurel Ventelcher Henry Lunde and Don Leonard were members of the cast of the all school play The junlor class play Men Are Llke Street Ca's was a comedy about teenagers and their problems The cast lncluded Marlow Angell Karleen Ask Pat Boerjan Cralg Cham pxon Carol Chrlstoffersen, Bob Gunderson Mary Ann Krapek Pattl Lewls Lois Nack Carol Olson, Slurley Perau Rosemary Plnt, Roger Pryor Laurel Ventelcher, Delbert Tabbert and Helen Zleglel' The members of the junlor class who served on the student councml for the year were Mmam Berg Cfrol Chrlstoffersen, Mary Ann Krapek Laurel Ventelcher and Helen Zlegler As junlors Mary Ann Krapek and Bob Fabnclus and Marlow Angell were chosen as representa tives to G1rl.s and Boys State The annual junlor semor banquet was held for the flrst t1me ln the high school gym wlth a prom bemg a new attraction Mardl Gras was the theme The banquet chairmen were Carol Christ offersen and Laurel Ventexcher The faculty advlsors were Mxss Place Mlss Markland Mlss Prnmlsmg and Mr Graf Carol Chnstoffersen was elected asthe student counc1l s vlce-presldent and at the begxnnlng of the second semester became presldent Cralg Champlon took over as presldent this year The class of 1954 opened their semor year by electlng Marlow Angell, Wllmer Jorgensen, and Darlene Shoger class offlcers Student council members were Mary Bledermann, Craig Champxon Carol Chnstoffersen, Dale Ketelsen, Mary Ann Krapek and Charles Murray Th1s year the class took a leading part ln all actxvlties of the school They were very much IH evidence ln all the clubs and honor SOCIBIICS, as well as athletlc and muslc departments ln the fall Mary Ann Krapek was chosen by the O Club to relgn as homecommg queen Her attendants were Rosemary Plnt and Laurel Ven texcher The GAA chose Marlow Angell as home comn ng king The semors GAA basketball team took fnrst place 1n the annual tournament held ln March The Curlons Savage was the tltle of the semor class play The cast Included flve boys and slx glrls With thexr commencement ln the lugh school gymnaslum the semor class ended thelr happy and most successful four years ln hxgh school 9 9 9 9 9 9 . .... . . .. 9 9 - - 9 9 9 ' ' ' 9 9 ' .. . . . . . . . . . . . , . ,, , . .
