The pep assembly was followed by a parade of the floats, band and classes through Main Street. ln the evening a pep rally was held in the east end of the parking lot around a large bonfire. As the tradition goes, a dummy representing the New Hampton Chicks was thrown into the fire. The rally ended with a snake dance across the football field. At half-time the band presented a show with the theme, Toyland , the floats paraded across the football field, and the queen was crowned by Richard Penney, president of the Senior class. The winning floats were the Junior float, first, and the Freshman float, second. After the game a student and alumni dance was held in the high school gym, during which Dick Mcphail was crowned Homecoming king. ll0lVlECO JUNIOR FLOAT FRESHMAN FLOAT UOx. ul' SOPHOMORE FLOAT SENIOR FLOAT s:-1 M: IJ .z..:.
