Sharon Sutton demonstrates to jackie Jones. Roger Sandfort and Dick Mowery, under Mr. Mar- A' berry's supervision, the pouring of sulfuric acid over zinc to make hy- drogen. OSAGE INTRODUCES CHEMISTRY Mr. Marberry teaches chemistry, a course new to Osage. In chemistry class many experiments are done to clarify what is learned from the text books. High school chemistry is an excellent preparation for college work. Many text books and workbooks were bought, along with extensive equipment. Two days a week are de- voted to experiments, the most interesting and educa- tional part of chemistry. Mr. Marberry stresses the experiments, explaining that so much more is learned by actually performing them, rather than reading the procedure out of a textbook. As Steve Schopp, Jerrold Dunstan, Carol Brown, and Kenneth Pruitt look on, Terry Rieder is doing a hydrolysis experiment, separating the hydrogen I 3 from the oxygen. The Chemistry Class experiments in the weighing and measuring of ingredients for the production of carbon dioxide.
