MAJOR CI-IORDS The Juniors find their year a very obfuscating one but definitely a new phase in their high school life. This is the year they pick their class rings and spend long tedious hours trying to materialize their long contemplated ideas for the prom. Freshmen The freshmen are getting into the groove of the regular high school routine now that they can choose part of their own curriculum. The boys are beginning to notice the girls and vice versa and there are a lot of cupid notes floating around. Through al.l of their participation in school affairs, however, we see that they are well worthy of being the top class in the Junior High. Row l - B. Lindstrom, A. Rosenwald, P. Fish, D. Seventh and Eighth Grades The seventh grade students miss their recesses and short classes, but they have always dreamed of entering Junior High, Now that they're here, they make their presence known to us by their enthusiasm in responding to school activities. Being tully acquainted with the lower hall escapades the eighth graders are now in full swing. They can hardly wait until they rule the roost next year. Row lj J. Everson, R. Gmenwald, C. Major appearances included American Education Week, the Christ- mas Concert, and the District Music Festival held at Madison. Out- standing among these was the Christmas Concert in which solos from the balcony, choirs from backstage, and audience participation in Christmas carols all contributed to. the general success. The ap- pearance of the Mixed Chorus and Glee Club at the District Music Festival concluded a successful year. GRACE NOTES Tumblers Ortonville is one of the few towns in our district that boasts a girls' tumbling team. Under the direc- tion of Miss Miller, the girls have mastered many difficult acrobatic feats. They displayed a high quality of grace and skill at between-half ex- hibitions at home basketball games. - nl 3 --1. M. Fletcher, M. Bergmon, V. Logon. Row 2i S. Korow, son, H. Schwondt, B. Bruns, D. The editor, Esther Stregeg the advisor, lvlr. Skaretg and the other members of the paper staff vvorked very hard to gather the news and to get it ready for the paper, The Ortonic served not only as an informer of the happenings of the school and of its different organizations but also as a promoter of school spirit. Kaline RUNS AND TRILLS The V949 football season got off to a slow start Although the first games were hard fought, the Trojans fell at the hands of Morris and Milbank. The Sisseton game ended in a 7 to 7 deadlock, ln the first home game of the year, our team dumped Canby, This victory was short lived, however, as the Trojans received two setbacks, one at the hands of Dawson and the other from Appleton. Coming back strong, we won our last two games against Clarkfield and Madison.
