Roll The Presses! Tiger's Eye was the name of the popu- by Tami Nimz lar newspaper on campus. The talented journalism class learned, under the direction of Mrs. Roxanne Lake, to write articles for publication and to interview interesting personalities around school. Block O Going Strong by Suzanne Edwards Block O increased its membership by allowing freshmen and sophomores in the club for the first time. Some of the goals for Block O were to share with other athletes on a noncompetitive basis, help the school and community, and to enjoy the chance to see major sporting events. 1) 1st row L to R. Sharp, Robbie Floyd Preserving The Union Martin Luthur King's birthday was honored by the Black Student Union as they spent a day commemorating the event at Butte College. Reverend Cecil Williams, nationally known pastor of San Francisco's Clide Memorial Church, was the guest speaker. Financial aid in college was one of the workshops BSU members attended. The traditional fundraiser was the Christmas candygram and nacho sale. BSU also played an exciting basketball game against IP's BSU, which was won by Oroville. The BSU was an important group as it helped members explore their heritage, and let them know that someone is out there to help with education and financial aid.
