In 75 76 Oroville High had two foreign exchange students: Janine McLaren from Otara, New Zealand, who stayed from February 76 until January 77, and Sabine Bramigk from Neumunster, West Germany, whose stay lasted from August 75 until July 76. Janine came with the Rotary Club; she finished her high school education in New Zealand and is a Senior in Oroville High. Her host family is the MacCarty family, with Susie and David as her American sister and brother. Sabine, who came with the Youth for Understanding exchange program, is also a Senior, but has two more years of German school to be completed. She is living with the Wood family; having one sister, Robyn, and brother, Richard, living at home, and a married sister Dorothy. 1 1 Robyn and Sabine can hardly wait to dip into the delicious cake Robyn made for her German sister's birthday 2. The Boy's State session was held in June with 950 boys also at Sac State. The two students going to Cirl's and Boy's State this year are Liz Ann Bassham and Robert Lackey. r • WWW Japanese Visitors Oroville High School had the pleasure to be the host for 13 Japanese high school girls and their teacher, Mr. Murai, for a three-week exchange program. The girls stayed with various families of students at Oroville High. The Japanese students, who arrived March 19th, 76, attended classes and school activities such as a concert, a picnic at Oroville Forebay, gold-panning and a farewell dance. In general, the J.V. football team had an extremely SUCCESSFUL season. Individually, and as a team, they accomplished the goals which were stated at the beginning of the season. Their record was 5 wins, 3 losses, and 1 tie. This success in winning, however, was overshadowed by their ability to play as a team. Throughout the season they continued to improve the aspect of team play. As the team was successful, it was only possible because of outstanding individuals. Each athlete contributed his strengths and skills toward an overall team effort.
