Miss Booth (above) teaches Creative Writing, Contemporary Literature, Concentrated Studies, and Film and T. V. drama—a popular elective which experiments in film and T. V. productions. Mr. Young (right) teaches his students Basic English, Report Writing, and Public Speaking. He is speech coach for the speaking contestants. For the second year in a row the English department has experimented with a wide range of elective English classes. Students now take one year of traditional English and two or more elected subjects. A popular elective is Concentrated Studies, a class which devotes six week studies to literature areas such as science fiction, fantasy, humor, etc. One of the areas this year was Camping and Mountain lore which planned an outdoor camping experience. Mr. Loch (upper left), head of the English Department, teaches Concentrates Studies, Bible Literature, A. P. English, and Theater Workshop. He has developed the drama section which produces the student play productions. Literature of the Old West, Concentrated Studies, and English I are subjects that interest the students of Mr. Read (lower left). Mr. Roundy (below) teaches the drama sections. He substituted during Mr. Loch's absence for the Theater Workshop's production of Death of a Salesman.
