Girls and Boys' State is a convention sponsored by the American Legion to promote student interest in state government. Each delegate is given a chance to explore his abilities by accepting the responsibilities of the mock government positions. Tom and Mary Ellen were selected by the school faculty by virtue of their scholarship, leadership, and character. They will participate in the eight-day convention after school dismisses for the summer. Comm ittee The Rally Committee was instigated by the Student Council to promote spirit at the rallies and support for our teams. The members were Sarah Steadman, Jan Adams, Margot Kantola and Pam Beck, who was too busy making signs to have her picture taken. C.S.F. Life Members Students who make the Honor Society four semesters out of their last six in high school receive a gold seal attached to their diploma as a sign of honor and are entered as Life Members of the C.S.F. Society. Students gain this scholastic level required by the Honor Society through a 10-point system. An “A in some nonsolid (band, typing, etc.), earns 1 V? points, with a “B giving y2 of a point. An “A” in a solid (English, social science, and math, etc.), earns three points. “B's” in a solid earn one point. This makes it necessary to earn at least “A s” in solid subjects in order to make this select group. The Class of 1964 was proud to have 15 of its members so honored.
