(L to R) Jack Pank, Ernest Gibson, Dr. Robert Bethel, Jack Andrews and Raymond Leonard, chairman. Board of Trustees The Board of Trustees has the vested responsibility for the operation of your school. Among the duties specifically charged to it by law are development of the school curriculum, adoption of textbooks, employment and discharge of personnel, regulations governing the operation of the school, including discipline, promotion and conduct; the entering into of contracts, the purchase of real property, and the building of schools. The importance of the work of the Board of Trustees is evident. Its success can only be measured in growth and development of the students within the school, the place that they take in adult life, and the contribution which they in turn make to the welfare of all people. It is, therefore, not a job to be entered into lightly, but one that calls for a great deal of time, effort, and devotion to a cause. Oroville is fortunate to have five men, each an individual thinker in his own right, who can and do join in welding together for a strong organization. The students, alumni, non-certificated staff, faculty and administration join in this expression of appreciation to the Board of Trustees.
