SPRING STUDENT BODY ACTIVITIES After the smoke of the spring election campaigns had cleared and the results of the election were tabulated, the new officers under-took their duties. Ted George was the president for the spring semester: he was assisted by Wendell Brown as Vice President and Kathy Lay- man, Secretary. A1 Treichler was Block O Custodian and Elinor Autran, Historian. The Executive Committee should be given credit for the fine job they did, with the co-operation of students and faculty, in running the affairs of the Student Body during the spring semester. Twenty active members of the student body traveled 7 to Chico in February to attend the Chico State Student Leaders' Conference. The ideas gained in the various is ,Q panel. discussions were helpful in our own school ac- IIVIIICS. After an absence of two years, boxing was re- animated during the spring semester at Oroville Hi. The Boxing Smoker was.a knock out affair Don Lee Davis and ackle Kofler were elected king and queen of the Mardi Gras 1 first of the many s o c 1 a l events during the spring mester It was fol lowed by he Sophomore Hop un1or Prom Athle tic and Music Fes tlval and last but not least the Senior Fare we 1 Although not a stu dent body activity an lm portant action taken this spring by the citizens of Oroville and the surround mg communities will cer tainly benefit all future students of Oroville Union High On March 28 the registered voters in the Oroville Union H tgh School district went to the polls and approved a seven hundred and fifty thou sand dollar bond issue The new two hundred and fifty thousand dollar gym will be the biggest single project in the issue fr W Construction of the badly needed unit should b gin 'kt I S 3 soon to be built as a result of the bond issue are two class room units three newshops a music wing Nl op-ooo, ,X ooo .
