P qdacaf It is the aim of the physical edu cation department of Oroville Union High School to provide an opportun ity for every boy and girl in school to participate in a program of sea sonal competitive sports to learn new games and to improve playing skills in those games Through participation in games every student has an opportunity to develop physical vigor and desire able habits in health sanitation and safety The sports program gives the opportunity to make real friendships with squad members and members of other squads It gives a chance to observe and exemplify good sports manship and the realization that com petition in sports is a privilege that Miss McNett carries definite responsibilities with The opportunity to participate in sports and games in school may open an avenue to a Wise selection of use of leisure time and recreational activities both during school days and afterward Also participatlon in athletic games will help students ad just themselves to the social order and competitive world in which we live It teaches responsibility as Well as cooperation and the program gives every student a chance to 61 Joy one of the greatest heritages or youth the right to play We are unfortunate at the pres ent that crowded conditions and ex treme lack of facilities prevent a full program of major and minor sports Miss Nyland Mr Harrison Mr Felipe fdmsfhn IMA 'mavrile
