Many students at Orosi High School have been able to realize this mot- to because of the efforts of Mr. Max Johnson. Mr. johnson has been teaching agriculture and spon- soring our F.F.A. program for the past eleven years. He has been truly an! ambitious, adaptable, resourceful, sincere, honest and reliable teacher. His success can also be attributed to the faith and patience he has with his students. This-is why it is an honor to dedicate this 1975 La Palma to Mr. Max Johnson. The 1974-1975 school year has now been recorded as history through the media of pictures and words. Many hours of hard work have gone into the publica- tion of this excellent document. The La Palma represents a cooperative effort on the part of students, parents, teachers and the entire community. It is the hope of the Board of Trustees, school administration and all the staff that the year has been rewarding to all students. Student participation in all activities has been ex- cellent. Student achievement in their course work and ex- tracurricular activities has been recognized in a variety of ways. A spirit of togetherness in an atmosphere of coopera- tion has made this truly a great year. jack E. The LA PALMA is an effort of capturing the seasons of this past year. As we page through this book we see a time for learning, a time for making friends, a time for sports, a time for activities and a time for laughter. As we look through this beautiful book we see the purpose of all these experiences. This purpose will be made more clear to us in the coming years as we continue to page through this book. Our hope is that each one of us will have the self-satisfaction of knowing we did the best that we are capable of doing at these particular times. We do wish each one of you the very best as we continue through many more seasons and many more individual experiences. Our team, though small and somewhat inexperienced showed constant hustle and steady improvement week to week. Our 8 and 2 season record is one the players may be proud of and with a little different bounce of the ball we could have won them all. This years team displayed outstanding defense, shutting-out five opponents and allowing only our Old Rival, Woodlake to score more than one touch down. On offense we were also very satisfied with over a 300 yd. average per game and 224 points scored to our opponents 42. We think each player can be proud of having been a member of one of Orosi's finest football teams, as we are proud of to have been their coaches. Each league game was a cliff-hanger . The players and coaches can take pride in a season which saw the junior Cards come from behind several times to win in the closing minutes of the game. The mark of a true champion is one who never quits even when he seems to be hopelessly behind. Who can forget our win over Dinuba after being down 20-6 and then coming back to win 24-20 in the last 30 seconds of the game? Who can forget the tremendous defensive effort made at Kingsburg or the 70 yard pass interception that won the game? If football is a game meant to provide excitement and entertainment for the fans, then we have accomplished our goal. . This season will hold many special memories for those of us who were a part of this team for years to come. My special thanks to each player, the managers, and Coach Bellin for their efforts.
