They were carefully laid in their proper place in the nest. Atempts were later made to hasten the growing process by giving o roller skating party and a football dance. Voicing the opinion that they were iust about ready to hatch, they gave an assembly. Now all that remained for them to do was to get out of that shell. Miss Ramacher and Mr. Holloway were our ring bosses. The pullets fed the roosters to a meal of high pro- tein mash followed by some fancy steppin'. They flew the coop and had a rousing good time at their senior ditch day. The chickens fluffed their feathers and showed them- selves off by a play, The Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court which they crowed about. OIUPUHC 215 The cowpunchers of the fair are the F. F. A. boys. The tenderfeet were shown the ropes at the greenhand initiation. They iingled their spurs and kissed their queen at the F. F. A. barn dance and really spread the grub at their Parent-Son Banquet. Rounding out the year, they trailed to the Vanderhoot's Field Day in Woodlake and the State Fair with their iudging teams. One evening these Chihuahuas enioyed a Spanish dinner and a movie. For sport they went skating and swimming. Much barking was heard at the fall CSF Conference held in East Bakersfield. They entered into the Yuletide spirit by bringing Christmas cheer to a needy family. The fair would not be the same without the ol' dogs prowling around. Along the gayway we also found a group of boys called the Kustom Kings. They were partially sponsored at the Fair by the California Highway Patrol. They made and demonstrated a Hot Rod. lt was safe, strong, fast and ofthe best workmanship. They traveled to all parts of the country, such as Fresno and Oakland. To help them along the gayway, they've raised money by various sales. Also, two of our flowers were exhibited at the Tri-Hi-Y Council meeting in Por- terville, Chaplain Mary Lou Mclaughlin, Treasurer Rose Ann Sams, President Ruth Cook, Historian Sammie Sue Jones, Vice-President Sylvia McKercher. They had a big swarm of honey gatherers at their Christmas and Skating Parties with the Flowers. All hands at the Christmas party were happy to hear them sing.
