SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS I eft to 'rzght Marian Gafrnsh lfymion Treadwell Jr Bruce Thaastefr Phzllzs Gould The Class of 1952 Thoughts on Graduation Night We have attended Orono High School for six years now and for the most of us they have been happy years Now that this moment has ap- proached our feelings and emotions have been confused Our secure world of get up, eat, and dash off to school has been shattered, and can never be mended Some of us. have a funny feeling in the pit of our stomach and all of us are remembering It was back in 1946 when we started up High School Road, and we were a little scared then as we are now We had heard about the detention system, the harsh ranking and the stern teachers but still we felt very excited and grown up Remember how badly we wanted to be in on all the older kids affairs, but they Wouldn't quite let us? And the school seemed so big. Why, at first we even got lost going from Miss Browning's room to the library. Then there was that next year when we were in the eighth grade and felt so superior to the seventh graders. That was the year we all went to the basketball games to cheer for Needham, Duffy, and Kenyon. Remem- ber? They almost beat Bapst! We took greater interest in activities that year, being enthusiastic members of the Arts and Crafts Club, and a couple of us even made the varsity orchestra. SENIORS '7fae Gunmen ew Sezenteen
