The W1ldcats was the tt rm l pl usd for or ratlrtr the team I prattlctd w 1th I sat rn my usual place on the btnth I had a trght fttlrng rn my throat is I follow d the progress of tht boys out there trying to wrn I had waited all season for thrs one aft rnoon and I was filled wrth tx trtemtnt and hope that the coach would sc nd m rnto the game Nlrnutes passed swiftly and the game was nearly half oyer The op drd not care too much who won as long as I got my chance to perform b fore the students It was quite eyrdent that the Wildcats were hopelessly out classed and the coach had already started sendlng rn subs Eyery trme the rry als made a goal I would anxrously glance at the coach to see lf he wanted to send me rnto the game In the final per rod wrth the score forty to fifteen rn the Champrons fayor the Wildcats called for a trme out and the coach signalled me to come to hrm My brg moment had arrry ed at last' Cold chrlls drd a marathon up and down my sprnal column as I took off my warm up surt and walked down to the coach The coach put hrs hand on my shoulder and looked out at th team as they rested Cene he sard wrth an affectron ate slap on my shoulder I shry er ed from the thrrll I lrked to hay the coach speak to me rn that tone Gene repeated the coach takrng another look at the exhausted players on the floor Gene run over to th store next door and get me a package of gum.
