All men are born equal, but it's what they are equal to later on that counts.

1, erm IW Au On April 29 they entered their second meet and came out on top over Dovei Monson Lincoln and Hartland This marked the first Orono track uctory in several years In preparation for the P V C meet the Scarlet scamperers journeyed to Pittsfield where they were let down by the Preppers Doc s men next annexed the P V C tltle by a decisive margin The Riots gathered a large number of pomts in the field events and shorter races to pile up a commandmg lead 1n the morning and held on ln the afternoon while picking up a few additional points Duffy Needham and Kenyon t1ed for first in the high Jump establlshlng a new record while doing so Duffy then went on to win the pole vault while Needham took a place in the discus and shot put Kenyon placed thlrd ln the pole vault the first t1me he had ever attempted th1s form of exercise! Our two speedsters Turner and Wallace placed among the leaders in the 100 220 and 440 yard dashes Goodme came in second in the kxlllng mlle whlle Wilson was rac mg home first in the low hurdles and flying across the broad Jump plt The relay team placed first for the third stralght year to end a successful ay Duffy was the only Riot to place in the State meet, 1nJur1es and poor running COIldlt10I1S holdlng the others down 'Tis better to give than to lend, and the cost is about the same.
