SUPlERllNTlENlDlENT'S MESSAGE After years of hope a dream of many Orleans Town and Township citizens is being realized. Although the building program is not com- pleted at this writing, most of it will be when the ORLEANA is published. Already science, English, and commercial classes are being held in the new building. A gymnasium with good physical education facili- ties will complete the new building project. Other new additions are a music room, home economics department, auditorium, and admin- istra tion offices included in the remodeling work. There are things yet to be done, but the chal- lenge of better buildings is being met. How- ever, we cannot relax, for a greater challenge lies before us: students, teachers, and the com- munity must work untiringly to use these new facilities to the best advantages in furthering true education, or all the sacrifice and work will have been in vain. Better schools are necessary to build a future for Orleans and its community. We can and will meet the challenge. HELEN CLEVELAND, School Secretary KENNETH WIGGS Superintendent of Orleans School Mr. Wiggs is shown at the new intercom system in his new office. Miss Cleveland stands behind the modern counter. She is the first O.H.S. secretary in a long time who has had ample room to work with those heavy ledgers.

THE RENIUDELED GYM The Home Economics Room occupies the south side of the old gym with exception of space for a cafeteria kitchen. This room is equipped with 6 kitchen units, beautiful storage cabinets, fitting room with triple mirrors, ample space for the 8 sewing machines, and adequate table space, The space of the former playing floor now serves as a cafeteria or an auditorium. The stage was moved from the center of the old gym to the north side. It is approx- imately the size of the old stage. The acoustics are far superior here to the acous- tics of the old gym.
