STUDENT COUNCIL REPCRT The student council started the year with two weeks of campaigning. For four- teen days posters and political data were posted in every possible space. Each candi- date was backed by a petition signed by fifty members of the student body and at least one campaign manager. The day of election speeches were given on behalf of the candidates and by the candidates themselves. Ed Anderson was re-elected president for the 1960-61 school year. The president and a hard working group of representatives began their yearly tasks. The main purpose of the student government is to teach students responsibili- ties in school affairs. They work closely with the faculty and therefore create a better student-teacher relationship. Delegates have been sent to various conventions in France and Germany and through these meetings we have derived benefits on organizing and maintaining the high standards that every school and student government hope to achieve during a school year.

LIBERTF FGALITIE ET FRATERNITF The Franco-American Clubs have furthered the education of the American stu - dent by promoting knowledge of French customs, educational systems, and history. They promote the better understanding of Orleans and also the surrounding cities and country itself. A most important accomplishment is providing a better understanding between the French and American people. The French and American students are brought closer together in the understand- ing of beliefs, customs, living habits, and culture. The main objective of our clubs is to promote better understanding between French and American students, to encourage students to see the many beautiful places of France and to use their knowledge of the French language by becoming acquainted with the French.
