. R. BOONE Sincerity, friendliness. a saving sense of humor, remarkable concentration, keen judgment, dynamic energy, and an abiding interest in hi work—these are the striking characteristics of William Renick Boone, principal of Orlando Senior High School since 1932. Mr. Boone began his teaching career in Orlando in 1921. His first schedule evinces his versatility: general science, physical geography, English, algebra, and coaching. Later he narrowed his field to general science and then to biology. He has also taught social science and psychology. He was principal of the summer school for eight years and has served as dean of boys and director of athletics, having coached basketball even after becoming principal. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oregon and a Master of Arts degree from Stetson University and has attended four other universities. Captain of Company I) of the Fourth Battalion of the Florida State Guard, he is well fitted to teach military science and to direct the Students Military-Training Corps. Because of World War I service, he is a member of the Twentieth U. S. Infantry Association and of the American Legion, in which his present interest is the Veterans' Rehabilitation Committee. Though known for his complete and systematic records which enable him to follow the careers of hundreds of former students.
