CLASS PROP!-IECY ' Office of Eleanor Yothers, lllay 16, 1960, 2537 R. C. A. Building, My dear Harold: New York City, N. Y. VVords cannot express the pleasure I felt when hearing of your appointment as our country's Am- bassador to Kleptomania. My delay in answering your queries of our high school graduating class has been due to the after- math of the publication of my recent novel, Phfft with the Breeze. Only yesterday I saw-Dr. Jack Christman, now a co-associate of the famous Albert Einstein. He had just come from a visit with his lifelong friend, Prof. Lawrence Ricker, who almost killed himself in a chemical explosion at Colum- bia University last week, where he is head of the science department. Last evening I had dinner with my publisher, Oliver Edwards. Then on to the Metropolitan Opera to see minute VVinifred Cox in Wilma Smith's classic opera, Madame Lightning Bug. Afterwards we dropped in at Governor Francis Ingley of N. Y.'s daughter's debut in Billie Bryant's club, The Silver Slipper, which features Lewis Guthrie's Jazz Kats and vocalist Patsy Clark. The old home town was represented by Jacqueline Fletcher and'Billy Christian, Shirley Slaughter and Richard Mark- ham. And to finish the evening, we ducked in Jack Warren and Theron Carde1l's -I-Znd Street Speak- easy. Today's paper brings the news of spring football and Notre Dame's head coach, Austin Caruso, and Sing Sing's Miller Phillips. Other sports news includes Bill Air's winning of National Open Golf Championship: also Lucien Fiseheser and Robert Carson on the International Fencing team and Cecil Butt as the U. S. mainstay of the Olympic swimmers. llly Nevada agent, Stafford Ildorrison, informed me that our former colleague, Louanne Taylor- Densmore-Ford-Jacobs is giving the Reno columnist, Sarena Stripling, more trouble with new name additions plus the brunette's frequent llirtations. At present her escort is the autocratic Baron von Achenbach of Berlin. Time is Heeing, so I bid adieu until our next epistle. Always, lim.-xNoR. American lfmbassy, I Kleptomania, lllay 30, 1960. My dear lfllie: Now I take the privilege of enlightening you as to the present status of some friends whom you did not mention. Before leaving the states, I was examined by Drs. Bob Trumbo and Bennett Dominick of Mayo Brothers. where Jean Langford San- - derson is the R. N. and Joan Miller Mebane is dietitian. NVhile reading American newspapers, I see that lllary VVherrette has a popular comic strip entitled Foo. And the Paris papers inform me that Ann Barnes, exclusive designer for the glamorous cinema star, Orlene Cox, is in that city gathering fashion notes from the re- cently opened salons of hlary Reed. I also saw honeymooners. Nlargaret Shriver and lllyrl Jones and Louise Jourdan and the great circus man, Johnny J. Jones, who were mar- ried in a double wedding in Bithlo, Fla., by Rev. Douglas Aldrich. Advance news tips have it that Grayson linsign will be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and Jimmy Rush will be awarded 310,000 for inventing an illuminated golf ball. Sincerely, AMBASSADOR H. WY GOFOR1'H. . . Harold, Orlene, Alice, Jimmy . .
