THE CLASS HISTORY ' Proudly but shyly the nClass of l944H made its debut in the fall of 1940 at the Orland Park High School The class had twenty eight pupils that year Their dramatic teacher, Miss friest, out on two three act plays Thev were nThe Scarecrow Creeps a d NEX cust My Dust Near the end of this year the high ool njoyed seeing the comedy, Life 'ith Father,n By the end of May after the atmosphere of high school life was breathed in and the freshmen would say mv high school,' the whole school had a picnic and went to Riverview Park Their return in the fall of 1940 was less dram tic but more joyous Ten new pupils Joined this sophomore class Three of their classmates entered a model house contest in the Flower Show of the Chicago Women's Clubs and received third prize Near the nd of this year some of them enjoyed dancing at the fir t Junior senior prom held in the new high school gymnasium They had a picnic on the last day of school that year Juniors there was something that pulled them back Upper classmen then, and able to settle import ant affairs More study than before and many more good Kelly We have him to thank for getting this school accredited Four new pupils also entered this class that year They won first prize in the magazine cam paign th t year within the school A May Carnival w s put on the s mc year by their dramatic teacher, They ended their Junior ye r with a school picnic And then Seniors in 1943, Tacts vcre acquired, many friends made nd important desires cultivated Three new seniors entered the class In the winter of this year, the music teacher, Miss McCann and the dramatics teacher, Miss Priest, put on two operett s 'The Christmas Bazaar' and uLiberty Lane, and March o this year the Seniors helped prepare a successful c r nival for school and public entertainment The Juniors joined the Seniors in seeing the musical shov, UOkla homa, At the end of the year the class of '44 could now truly say, nvini, vidi, vici N They reminisced long ingly, but are looking forward firmly to new goal in life. o ' 0 0 I N I1 0 sch e . ll O a O . 4 O s.. 7 I . 3 o C '- u ix S ' ., , N 7 .
