SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In September of 1955 one of the most important doors of life opened to twenty-four high school freshman. Everything was very new and wonderful. We spent the year getting acquainted with the roles we were to play the next three years. In our Freshman year our activities were few. We had a record dance, a paper drive, spaghetti supper, and a scavenger hunt. Our officers for our Freshman year were as follows: President-Joan Clair, Vice President-Stephen Winans, Secretary- Jane Clair, Treasurer-Carol Misiaszek, Adviaor-Mr. Crupl. When we returned in 1956 David and Elsie Hamm and Diane Burleigh had left our class. Our Sophomore year wns a very exciting year for us. We had our Sweet Heart Dance, with Freddie Lawrence s Orchestra. Kathleen Olmstead wes chosen Queen of our dance. Our officers for the Sophomore year were: President-Stephen Winans, Vice President-Joan Clair, Secretary- Jane Clair, Trea8urer-Marcia Sykes, Advisor-Mr. Guayasamin. The following fall when we returned, we had lost George Murphy, John Finnegan and Pat Falin. Our Junior year was full of exciting events. We took over the movies from the Senior class and sold candy at the basketball games. Our Junior Prom was a great success. The Class chose My Blue Heaven as the theme, and Duke Harmony and his orchestra provided the music, Bob Mallabar and Ann Johnson were elected King and Queen, and one and all had an enjoyable evening. In November we received our class rings; this was a thrill for all of us. The Junior Class took over the newspaper called the Hilltop News. Class officers in our Junior year were as follows: President- Carol Misiaszek, Vice President- Joan Clair, Secretary-Jane Clair, Treasurer-Marcia Sykes, Advisor-Mr. Guayasamin. When we returned in 1958, two more had left our class. They were Helen Snell and Whitney Oliver. Another student Joined our class, Kathleen Olmstead. Our Senior year is one of the busiest year in High School. First was the task of putting our yearbook the Oriska together, aid then came our Senior Play called Rest Assured, a three-act comedy which was presented on November 21. We wish to thank Mr. Beemer for helping us and Mr. Volk for assisting us with the make-up. We had a Donkey Basketball game in January. Officers of the Senior Class were: President- Carol Misiaszek, Vice President- Joan Clair, Secretary- Jane Clair, Treasurer-Carol Rehm, Advisor-Mr. Buckoski, Student Council Rep. Bill Lancuski and Ann Johnson. Now the four years that seemed so long have gone swiftly by. Our high school years have been exciting and eventful. They shall never be forgotten, especially our trip to New York and Washington. So the doors of Oriskany Falls High School have closed to eighteen Seniors, and a new life will start for all of us. SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY Yesterday, exactly ten years after our graduation in 1959 who should I happen to bump into in Beverly Hills but my old buddy, Rehmie. We ex- changed conversation, and I told her I was doing very well at the racetrack with my horse, Hoofless.” She told me she was a horse doctor and had Just come from the home of Dean Martin. She had delivered his wife’s (Susie Olmstead) tenth baby. It was an emergency and Rehmie was the only doctor available. Rehmie and I decided to look up the other members of the Class of 59 We met Bill Lancuski and Jeff Mariano cruising along in their bright red convertible. Who should be with them but Marilyn Monroe and Jane Mansfield. Next we met Joan Clair and Carol Lee Howe. They told us they owned the Popeye Spinach Company. Carol cut the spinach while Joan poured on the vinegar. It is known that this is the worst tasting spinach in the U.S.; even Popeye can’t stand it. After talking with Joan and Carol, we went to a little place called Martha’s Hideway. The name sounded familiar, so we asked who the owner was. We were much surprised to find it was Martha Ball. Besides being the owner of Martha’s Hideway, she conducts her own band. Kay Colman, who was discovered by a talent scout at our Senior Play, is now the leading lady in a broadway production called I Need a Husband Like a Hole in the Head. Through technical difficulties, we were unable to reach Steve Winans and Richard Tieder. They were the unnamed scientists who had reached the moon. They are now reading a book called How to Get Back to Earth in Ten Easy Lessons. Our next stop was our home town. We went to the heme of Marcia and Junior Engle. Upon meeting Marcia, we were very surprised to find she was no longer the pretty blond we knew in school; but the pretty brown haired girl we always knew she really was. We found out from Marcia that Ann Johnson was married to General Whitney Oliver, and they had two little pri- vates of their own. Next we stopped at a near-by farm to get water for our car radiator. Who should come to the door but Jane Clair. She told us she was married to Chuck Marriott and this was their farm. Jane also told us they were doing very well since they bought out Grove Hinman. We found that Ronnie Idzi was a coach at Notre Dame University. We also know that Notre Dame hasn’t won a football game yet. We had all but two of our former classmates accounted for. We were told we could find Dick Huntley and Bob Mallabar in a small town in Arizona. Bob is the head of the Rangers and had Just caught the notorious leader of the Hunt’s Tomato Gang, Dick Huntley, when we arrived. This brought to a close our re-meeting of the Class of 59. In the future we all hope to meet again. ?• yriaA kj Gst s -' B JUNIORS 1st. row: C. Jeffers, P. Day, D. Garvey, K. Alberding, E. Mar- iano. 2nd. row: D. Sinclair, M. Vey, B. Colman, C.
