Activities Soccer 1,2,3 Basketball 1,2,3,k Band 1,2,3 SENIOR CLASS SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Four years ago, we entered high school with shocking behavior, (which has not improved over the years.) We were a carefree class, but we had our trip to Washington and New York City as our goal. All of us thought that it would be a simple task to earn money (but we soon found out differently). Pauline Covey, Barbara Roy, Helen Champion, Wendell Atkins, and John Furness started with us, but only Pauline and Barbara remained throughout the year, and Barbara left us then. Our activities included the selling of sweat shirts, a bake sale, and one movie. The Seniors didn't give us too much trouble at Initiation, but we enjoyed the little trouble they did give us. Our advisor was Mr. D. R. Crupi and the class officers were Allen Olmstead, President; Mary Mulvihill, Vice-President ; Joyce Olmstead, Secretary; and Lawrence Ames, Treasurer. We came back to school in September as Sophomores, only to discover that Sybil Foster was attending Madison Central School. In reference to class activites, we had few. We sold felt letters, had a few bake sales, and conducted a record dance. Mr. Ken Lowe was our advisor. Our class officers were Allen Olmstead, President; Lawrence Ames, Vice-President; Mary Mulvihill,'Secretary; and Joyce Olmstead, Treasurer. Then we were Juniors. Could it have been possible? It surely was. But our class was diminishing in size. Joyce Olmstead, Mary Mulvihill and Norman Jipson were attending Madison Central School. Norman returned in December to complete the year with us. Pauline Covey Joined the Senior Class• In September, we selected our class rings, which arrived before Christmas. All the rings had square stones, but the colors differed. The boys had ruby stones while the girls had black onyx. Our activities included the Junior Prom, several record dances, the sale of magazines, the sale of candy at basketball games, a turkey raffle, a few bake sales, and two paper drives. The Junior Prom was the most important. We had some wonderful arguments about a theme and finally decided on Canadian Sunset . We started on the decorations about two weeks before the Prom. Mr. Hoyt gave us some excellent ideas, but two days before the Prom, we abandoned these ideas, and started decorating with easier ones. We finished decorating about five hours before the Prom. Freddie Lawrence and his orchestra supplied the music. Allen Olmstead and Marilynne Kolwaite were crowned king and queen. And in the end we had a very successful dance. Mr. Bither was an excellent advisor with his many ideas and suggestions. Our class officers were Carol Schlemitzauer. President; Allen Olmstead, Vice-President; and Patricia Cowles, Secretary«Treasurer. Mr. Bither remained with us as our class advisor during our Senior year, but the officers changed. Our new class officers were Floyd Lewis, President; Kenneth Freenire, Vice-President; Patricia Cowles, Secretary; and Marilynne Kolwaite, Treasurer. Our main project was the Oriska , which turned out to be successful (which was quite an honor for our class). We had Round and Square Dances, (a Sadie Hawkins Dance included), turkey and ham raffles, record dances, bake sales, movies, a Donkey Ball Game, and others. We have not yet made too many plans for the Senior Ball, but we hope it will be successful. Our school years at Oriskany Falls High School are sadly drawing to a close. We will always remember OFHS and the good times we have had. And we will always remember our trip, which we finally made in April of this year. SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY One day in the summer of 1965 while I was sitting at my desk in General Electric in New fork City, I began to wonder what the other members of my graduating class were aoing. Much to my surprise. Captain Bruce Matteson of the U. S. Air Force appeared in my office. He had been wondering the same thing, so we decided to investigate. First, we decioec to go back to the Falls. Upon reaching our destination, we noticea a new Ford Garage and decided to get some gas. Surprisingly enough, the former Pat Cowles came out to give us service. She told us she was married and had four children and a new house. We asked about the remainder of our class, but before we could receive an answer, a 1965 Ford Sunliner stopped beside us. We were astonished to find that the driver was Marilynne Kolwaite. She cheerfully informed us that she worked as a secretary in General Electric in Utica and part-time bookkeeper for the Vice-President of Goocson Farms, Inc. The car belonged to her part-time boss, but the only time he knew he had a car was when the payments were due. We headed for the airport and took off in Bruce s Jet. We headed for Texas to see Lawrence Ames. When we arrived at the Flying A11 Ranch, we saw Floyd Lewis. Buster informed us that Floyd was his manager. Dick Sykes came up and greeted us heartily. He told us he was the veterinarian on the ranch for Buster's favorite palimino, Nugget. Then we went on to Hollywood, California, where we saw Art Howlett riding around in his 1965 white convertible filled with women. We were glad to see that Art had not lose his charm as a playboy. On the return trip to New fork City, we kept receiving strange radio signals. We looked in the code book and discovered the signals were from Schlernitzauer's Satellite. Carol finally made it out of this world, so we radioed back for her to land in New fork City. When we stepped out of our jet, we saw Kenny Freemire and Pat Moten getting ready to board a plane to head home. They were both in their Navy uniforms and they told us that they had Just returned from a 6-month voyage in the newest atomic submarine. Pat was going to Oriskany Falls while Kenny was going home to his wife in Ithaca. We were beginning to wonder what had happened to Carol when she appeared in front of us. Her satellite has silent engines so we didn't hear her land. Carol told us she worked for the government. We asked about her job but everything was strictly confidential. She to told us she did not plan to marry as yet. After returning to my desk, I reflected on all the good times we used to have at OFHS and 1 now realize that they were the best days of my life I .
