REAR ADMIRAL JAMES D. RAMAGE, U.S.N. Rear Admiral James D. Ramage entered the Naval Academy in 1935 and was commissioned an Ensign in 1939. After designation as a Naval Aviator in 1942, he reported to the USS Enterprise QCV-61 Where he served as Executive Officer and Commanding Officer of Bombing Squadron 10 from 1943 to 1944. ln 1947 he was assigned to the USS Bairolco KCVE-1151 as Navigator, and in 1952 he became Commander Air Group NINETEEN, embarked on Orislcany. He assumed command of the USS Salisbury Sound lAV-131 in 1960 and the USS lndependence KCVA-623 in 1963. ln 1966 he was assigned as Chief of Staff and Aide to Commander Task Force SEVENTY- SEVEN. Prior to assuming command of Carrier Division SEVEN, Rear Admiral Ramage served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans and Operations for the Commander in Chief, U.S. Pacific Fleet. He has attended the Naval War College and the National War College. He holds an MS degree in lnternational Affairs from George Washington University, Washington, D.C. CAPTAIN LEONARD M. NEARMAN, U.S.N. Captain Leonard M. Nearman entered the Navy in 1942 and received his commission and aviator's Wings in 1944. He saw action in the Pacific in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. ln l96l Captain Nearman was Commanding Officer of Attack Squadron 76 aboard the USS Intrepid ICVA-115. ln 1963 he became Commander of Air Group SEVEN, the Navyls first all-jet air wing. He was Commanding Qfficer. of the USS Muliphen KAKA-615 in and Commanding Qfficer of the USS Kearsarge CCVS-33j in Captain Nearmangreceived his BS degree from the University of lblalryland andhis Masters Degree from George Washington niversity.
