Class History In September 1U the year of our Lord Nlneteen undred and Forty seven there came to pass a small and 1ns1gn1f1cant band of seekers who approached the base of the Stalrs of Knowledge We had every 1ncxper1 ence as our foothold but we managed to acqulre our flrst real footlng 1n the flrst grade under the expert guldance of Mrs Wllllams who taught us our numbers and launched us on the road to the learmng of readlng Those ln our band of fourteen were Karen G1lllSp16 Anne Clayton Lola Brown, Dlcky Wllmeth Murlel Tuttle Carol Murray Ioe Reddlngton Gerald Mcllravy llubert Andersen Larry Iosephson Larry Frus Iack Flls Dean Culver and Rlchard Craven The next step led us to Mrs Beecher our patlent second grade teacher who taught more arlthmetlc w1th the help of Ioe Ioe and Iocko our arlth metlc monl eys from our book In the m1ddle of the year Gary Pfundheller and Glor1a Ph1ll1ps Jolned our group Murlel Tuttle left us at the end of the year Mlss Holmes greeted us on the thxrd step by addlng to our burdens Engllsh and spelllng Prom thls step we lost Larry Iosephson and Lola Brown but we galned Margery Speed and Sharon Kay Bub to even the number Our ever searchlng mlnds led us on to the fourth grade Mrs Strong told us that we had made one of the hardest steps we would encounter Thls challenged us to work all the harder Mary Ann Leedom Jolned us ln our strlfe, but Dean Culver, Dlcky Wllmeth and Glorla Ph1ll1ps wandered to dlfferent stalrs F1fth Grade found us under the lnstructlon of Mlss Menslng We wel comed Doyle Fry Ronald Tolley and Larry Weed 1nto our mldst whlle we lost Mary Ann Leedom Our Slxth step found us 1n a large room w1th Dale Russell and Mrs Reddlngton as our guldes Charles Haynes came to travel w1th us whlle Gary Pfundheller and Ronald Tolley left by another trall Movlng lnto the seventh grade our teacher changed to Mrs Swanson and Mr Randall Larry Frus left us but Ronme Frus took h1s place Murlel Tuttle spent a few months Wlth us It was a blg step from the seventh to the e1ghth but we made lt We galned and lost Dorothy and Ray Straw durlng that year We chose Blue and Whlte for our class colors and the Whlte Carnatlon as our flower And so our small band traveled upward 1nto hlgh school Our number of subjects decreased but they were new and dlfferent Mr Lovely lead us through the realms of sclence and math Mrs Rust to1led w1th us through Engllsh and Llterature As Freshmen we galned and lost Ilm Duff. 1 1 V E Y. pl - , , .l . .
