CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 37 twenty slx llttle brats started their long journey up the edu catlon ladder They were Margaret Hamline Barbara Husted jack Stewart Waneta Weed Lucxlle Vandewater john Musmaker Kenneth Leeps Arnold jensen Merrxtt Eblen Ronald Keating Eloulse Sheehan La Donna Reppllnger Hugh Swoyer Dallas Green Vera Dunn Earl Reeves Delores Mlkkelson Lester Kuhns Russell Kuhns james Buchanan Beverly Winn Glor1a Gordon jackle Carter Iona Stem john Ryan and Leroy Keesey Wxth the help of M1ss Finley we learned to prmt our names and to read and spell a few words such as cat and dog We were all domg well when Gloria Gordon Elouxse Sheehan Delores Mxkkelson and jackle Carter fell off the ladder The rest of us however stayed for a try up the next step We all made xt w1th the exception of Margaret Reha Waneta Weed Ronald Keatmg Arnold jensen Russell Kuhns and john Musmaker Durmg our fzrst year 1n school we met wxth a very sad experlence Earl Reeves one of our classmates passed away 1n the early sprmg In the second grade we were jon-ed by Rxchard Stephens Regema Chadvnck and Lola Campbell Miss Kmyon guided us along and taught us our numbers We worked very hard and were progressing mcely when two more fell off They were Merritt Eblen and Iona Stem The rest of us flmshed the year successfully As we struggled up the thlrd step we met Donna Llttrell joan Strong and Ruth M1ss Holmes taught us to wrzte and to apprecxate nature We took long walks through the town looklng at and stud 'mg the many dxfferent kmds of trees and bxrds We had a lot of fun fmdmg out who saw the most robms in the sprlng when they were flymg back north Almost before we knew at we had all cllmbed to the fourth step except Barbara Husted who fell off We were put ln the charge of Miss Mxtchell th1s year We galn ed Eugene Buckm1ller Dale Bam ey Wayne Gr1dley john Hansen and Donald lnlow this year A new and very mterestxng subject was added this year American Hlstory I was a httle harder than our other subjects but our teacher was very pahent wzth us and we flnally learned lt Mr Bishop the depot agent 1nv1ted us to rlde on the C B 8: Q to Greenfxeld for half price We were all exclted for It was to be the fxrst tram rlde for most of us Everyone went and seemed to enjoy It very much especxally looklng out the wlndows We all cllmbed to the f1fth step but R1chard Stephens who fell off and Donald lnlow who couldn t quite make xt Commg mto our class this year were Paul Bryant and Dickie Fust thus mcreaslng lt to twenty We were mstructed by Miss Caryl In th1s grade our ab1l1ty to draw and to make things was tested In the end we had some very fxne looking specmmens Each of us made a puppet doll which we proudly dxsplayed 1n a Punch and judy show presented to the grades 17 I . - lt OI . .
