September l944l School began and many old friends greeted each other. We Sopho- mores felt much more confident than we did as Freshmen. Our activities began with the ever-famous Freshman Reception, at which time the tiny Freshmen trembled, thinking of our breath-taking theme, Black Friday. Next, a skating party at Modesto proved to be fun for ally then came the highlight of the year-the combined picnic at the hills with the Gustine Sophomores-More fun! Finally the school year l944-l945 came to a close. The class is looking forward to a happier and more successful Junior year in l945-I94-6. -John Mutoza.
