Mr, VX Q., During the year 84-85 the stu- dent council was very involved planning activities that made O.J.i-l.S. an exciting place to be. Whether the projects were dances, assemblies, or 7th grade elections the student council car- ried them oft with style. New to our school was the leg- islative council. The council met each month to consider and vote on important issues pertaining to school lite. An added responsibility for the student council this year was the Keeping in the right halls cam- paign. The purpose ot this cam- paign was to keep closed halls free of student traffic during the lunchtimes. The student council of 84-85 by encouraging school pride, helped O.J.H.S. soar above the rest. J Y STAFF EX CEL5 The J!Y Staff immediately stepped into their jour- nalism responsibilities the first day of school. Plung- ing into layout, graphic arts, copy writing and news editing, the staff began learning how to produce the school yearbook and newspaper. A communication system was organized between JXY Staff and var- ious academic departments so eventful happenings could be reported in the monthly Jaguar news. Photographers from JXY Staff haunted halls searching for exciting shots of all the students at O.J.H.S. Dances, assemblies, and parties were re- corded for memories in the yearbook. A transitional year at O.J.H.S. brought sped-up deadlines and some nerve-wrecking hours. However, the .HY Staff performed well and the yearbook was ready to step out on time.
