30 RED DRESS FASHION SHOW RAISING AIDS AWARENESS THROUGH FASHION V Photos by Brittanie Cobh Students studying for a career in the fashion industry are invited to join this student club! Students who join OSUFO will be provided with opportunities to build skills in leadership, to promote the fashion industry, to contribute to the community, and to build professional networks with peers and industry guests. Every year, OSUFO organizes the Recycled Fashion Show, giving students the unique chance to work behind the scenes with the organization and production of an actual fashion show. Club members are also able to be involved with other fashion shows such as the Red Dress Fashion Show benefiting AIDS awareness. These events offer networking opportunities with professionals from all sides of the apparel manufacturing and retail industry. Past industry speakers include Erik Anderson, the Apparel Manager for the OSU Beaver Store and Jamie Kish, an independent jewelry designer and entrepreneur. The club plans to offer exclusive industry field trips to companies such as Nike, Adidas, Columbia, and Pendleton Woolen Mills to experience firsthand how these companies operate on all levels of production, merchandising and retailing.
