Tension and excitement spread over the campus as Oregon State’s College Bowl team flew to New York to challenge Manhattanville College. OSU students and team alternate cheered the team on to victory from in front of their television sets. The following week the team went on to defeat New Mexico University. In its third television appearance, OSU was defeated by the University of Virginia, which later went on to win the College Bowl championship. 19

...Welcomes a Ball With winter term comes several of the more formal events of the year—the highlight of these being the Mortar Board Ball, “First Class Male.” On this occasion, the girls have to do the asking for a change, a situation which helps to clarify many ponderous questions.
