Fall... Now and then we watch the breeze swirl the Leaves to announce the coming of fall, for In the air wc feel the end of summer and the Beginning of the new season. For we were too much with it and had become A part of it. caught up in the wonder, hut Stop, for now we must return, the lesson to Learn, to review the thoughts that burn. So return to the classes and take up the books. Knowing the nights that lights will bum late, While up and down the hall diversion will call To the splash of rain on the pane. And other sights there are to see. there for You and me, a chill in the air and frost on The grass among the golden leaves as nature Brings her seasons to pass. For fall is the meantime—the change in the tide With the small things too obvious to hide Nostalgia on things past and a looking ahead— Earth as she stretches before going to bed. 12
