Alums come home to “Campus Fun in ’61” ▼ And then there was Homecoming—a tradition-packed time! Each living group welcomed alums with their Homecoming signs and open houses. Delta Tau Delta broke the Kappa Sigma five-year reign by receiving the sweepstakes trophy for the best sign. Queen Christi Murray was hostess to alums at the alum barbecue, midnight talent show, bonfire and the traditional war between the Ducks and the Beavers. Of course, no Homecoming Weekend is complete unless the Beavers win ... and they did. November: Linda Schaible. The card section adds to half-time color.

OKITIEB ▼ High school seniors went collegiate during the annual Beaver Preview weekend, when prospective Oregon State students were introduced to all phases of campus life. The packed schedule of events began with an orientation luncheon followed by meetings in each school. OSU living groups acted as hosts and hostesses to the visitors. Each organization gave their guests a preview of college social life with firesides, serenades, pinning or engagement announcements and just plain fun! January: Matti Smith. Snow fell several times during the winter. It brought unusual beauty to the campus, squeals of delight from underclassmen Californians and Ha-waiians and colorful language from commuters. 13
