Nickel Hop time means a swarm to the dorms (male type) with the upperclassmen women wondering. Where are the men?? Each nickel pays for two dances and a contribution to the AWS scholarship fund.

Davenports and chairs on Fraternity Row lawns acted as lookout posts for Row residents to make sure that freshman coeds on their way to sorority rush parties would not get lost. After officially becoming members of the OSU student body at the pledge convo. the new Beavers then learned the secret of the mysterious Paw-Paw Pick. The lo-o-ong waiting lines reminded all OSU students that registration had arrived. Freshmen and transfers become official Beavers at pledge convo. And we thought registration was complicated with 8000 students!”

Alums come home to “Campus Fun in ’61” ▼ And then there was Homecoming—a tradition-packed time! Each living group welcomed alums with their Homecoming signs and open houses. Delta Tau Delta broke the Kappa Sigma five-year reign by receiving the sweepstakes trophy for the best sign. Queen Christi Murray was hostess to alums at the alum barbecue, midnight talent show, bonfire and the traditional war between the Ducks and the Beavers. Of course, no Homecoming Weekend is complete unless the Beavers win ... and they did. November: Linda Schaible. The card section adds to half-time color.
