As fall term progressed, OSC students settled down to the “more quiet routine of house dances and firesides. The Junior-Senior Prom, A Night on the Town, featured the Jimmy Dorsey orchestra. This year for the first time, OSC students gathered on the MU Quad for an all-campus Christmas sing before going home for a long-awaited vacation. Children write their letters to Santa!

Winter term saw Beavers returning from a vacation of skiing, parties, and just plain old resting. A busy social season began with the Military Ball, Engineers Ball, and the Lemon-Orange Squeeze. Beaver Preview weekend saw the campus invaded by 1200 prospective Beavers. OSC treated guests to campus tours, a variety show and a dance. Several hundred dads were also present on campus for Dads Weekend. The Beaver Pa was treated to luncheons, firesides, dinners, wrestling matches, a variety show and two nights of basketball.
