Vance, though the dean and director of business administration for the state is Victor P. Morris at Eugene. [16] fORESIRY Students in forestry are constantly asking the advice of Prof. Earl G. Mason, acting dean of that school since 195S. Appointed an instructor after graduation from OSC in 1910, he took time out to earn the M.S. degree at Yale. Besides being dean of education for the combined schools at Oregon State college and the University of Oregon, James R. Jewell is director of high school teacher training for Oregon. EDUCAIION Lower division dean, M. Ell wood Smith, is a scholarly and energetic person whose efforts have gained him Ph.D. and M.A. degrees from Harvard. He also directs the Oregon State college summer session. 1 R. H. Dearborn J was head of the electrical engineering department before becoming dean of the school in 1915. He is also director of the engineering experiment station.

Her nearly infallible memory distinguishes her personality; her fairness marks her character. GflAUlt DIVISION Assistant dean of the graduate division for the state system is Prof. W. Weniger who also teaches physics. George Rebec is dean of this department for both Oregon State college and the University of Oregon. OMt ECONOMICS Ava B. Milam, dean and director of home economics for the state system of higher education since 1931, has been greatly responsible for the high national standing of the home economics school. AGfllCULIURE From a responsible position on the Federal Farm board, William A. Schoenfcld, former student of Wisconsin, Harvard and Berlin universities, came to Oregon State in 1931 to be dean of agriculture. 'll Instrumental in forma-j I tion of the school of pharmacy and dean since its founding in 1917, Adolph Zicflc makes a hobby of his work and puts his personality into his subject. An OSC alum with degrees of B.S., Ph.G., Ph.C. earned on this campus and a Ph.D. from Yale, F. A. Gilfillan in 193S was appointed dean of the school of science to replace E. L. Packard. [17]
