Freshmen Boys' Basketball: Mr. Bartholomew, Troy Klanecky, Jesse Nelson, Jon Zell, Shane Steele, Bryan Hoevet, Mitch Kearns, and Mike Mason. The 1984-85 freshmen boys' basketball team consisted of 9 players. The team stats were six wins and four losses. Mr. Bartholomew, the coach, commented that after dropping the first three games the team regrouped to play better as a unit and won five of the last six games. Mr. Bar- tholomew said, l was pleased with the effort our team made to play better together in the latter halt of the season and eventually won the championship at the VICA Tourney in Grand Island. Valuable Experience Gained The reserve basketball team enjoyed the 1984-85 season. They worked hard, but it was fun work. Under the training of Coach lvlachal, they gained valuable experience, con- fidence in themselves, and a sense of teamwork. When the too-short season came to a close, their record stood at 5 wins and 9 losses. It was not the best record as wins go, but they had gained valuable experience for upcoming var- sity years, Back Row: Tod Masin, Chris Smedra, Dennis Schmitt, Flick Fleineke, Jared Ptacnik, Tim Miller, Mike Wagner. Teams Finish Undeleated!! The 1984-85 7th and 8th Boys' Basketball teams were both undefeated with a record of 5 wins and O losses. The leading scorers for the 7th graders were Shawn Dowse and Steve David with 31 and 25 points respectively. The leading scores for the 8th graders were Brian Griffith and Chadd Murray with 68 and 46 points respectively.
