Varsity Team Makes History!! History was made by the 1983-84 Varsity football team as they qualified for the state play-offs for the first time in school history and finished with a 9-2 overall record. Once in the state play-offs, the Chants easily handled Mitchell, however, they were finally defeated by the Grand Island Central Catholic Crusaders. 'tThe team really put out 100070 for every game, said Co-Captain Wade Bundy. 4'But after playing three con- secutive road games lAlbion, GINW, Mitchelll it was really hard to come back and play well against GICC. Reserves Compile 3-I Record Under the direction of Coach Carl Streeter, the reserve football team finished with a 3-1 record as they beat Broken Bow, GICC, and O'Neill, and lost to only GINW. A last minute touchdown catch by Brian Foth against O'Neill proved to be the highlight of the season. Kevin Osentowski lead the team with 24 total yards and 51 tackles while Tom Kruml passed for 239 yards. .
