This year, the biggest and pro- bably the most popular pep rally was the Thursday night Homecom- ing Bonfire held at the baseball dia- mond. It wentf over well with new- comers, The Pillow Peoplen, put- ting in their first appearance. Another first was our mascot, The Chant. Jeff Bennett was that masked person inside the costume. At most pep rallies the cheerleaders put on skits. One of the best is shown above and was called Suckersl', which was very true to life. The FHA put on an all day con- vocation on alcohol awareness. Various panels of alcoholics and drug abusers, representatives from Valley Hope, the Ord area proba- tion officer, and numerous others gave discussions and question and answer sessions during the day. The convocation was termed a success in the school newspaper The Oracle.

When the Camera Catches You Have you ever noticed, when you least expect it, when you're looking your worst, someone snaps a picture? Your eyes see spots from the flash and you chase the photographer down the hall or around the classroom to get the film. Some people ham it up, some shy away and it's hard to get a serious photo without bunny ears sticking up somewhere. No matter how much you hate tor likel the idea of having your picture taken, it is inevitable, and you usually look forward to seeing the finished product.
