Jr High Bond Provides Fundomentolsd Ord junior high band provides in- strumental music education for junior high age students, primarily in marching and concert band fundamentals. There were 49 members from the public, St. Mary's, and country schools. Junior high band played at the Grand Island Harvest of Harmony, Ord Halloween Parade, Christmas concert and Spring concert. The purpose of the Jr. High Chorus is to prepare the students for Sr. high school vocal music groups such as Swing Singers and Ord Singers. This year's Jr. High Chorus group consisted of 18 eighth graders and 25 seventh graders. Dayle Johnson was the faculty director. There were 39 members in band last year. The director was Mr. Stephan Niles. Requirement for membership in band is to have previous band experience andfor director's approval. Varsity Band played at North Loup Popcorn Days, home football games, Conference Band Clinic, Arcadia Fall Festival, Hastings Melody Round-Up, Ord Halloween Parade, and home basket- ball games. ....N..--, Above: Percussion section: J.
