The KIDS FOR KIDS drive does it again. This year we raised the most money ever in the history of the drive. The grand total was $3249.62. Our eleven-year total is $lj8666.67. The money will M be given to the Muskegon March of Dimes , St. Jude ' s I Children ' s Hospital, Unicef I The Burn Center, Jerry Lewis ' s Muscular Dystrophy Association, and the American Cancer Society. The 1979 Orchard View Varsity Football team proved tney were number 1 ! The Cardinals set many outstanding records, among them 7 straight wins after losing their first two games. What made this record stand out was the fact that the team lost its first two games by a 73 9 margin. To add to the opening loses many players quit and so did head coach Doug Coe. Coe decided to stay and later was voted the Chronicles Coach of the The most important and impressive record was the Cardinals 5-0 conference record. This perfect Seaway Championship record was a first in OV history. This year ' s team was led by co-capts. Milt Montgomery, Terry Williams, Dan Maus , and Mike Kruzel. The team had eight all conference players: Kruzel, Mike stenberg, Mike McCarty, Ron Faino , Tom McCuley, Ron Maycomber , Mark Kolbe and Curtis Adams. Chip Gerard received honorable mention. Kruzel, McCarty, Faino, Kolbe, and Adams were selected to the Muskegon Chron - icle Area A-B first team. Adams ran for 1,470 yards and 14 touchdowns, which are OV TeToYds, and received special mention to the class B All State team. Congratulations Seaway Champions. You truly are NUMBER 1!!
