This year, instead of a time worn theme for the '57 QUAKER, we decided to write an open letter to the student body of Orchard Park. We feel that our school is at a crossroads , we can continue to be a school we are all proud of, or we can become just another large high school. lt is a time to reaffirm our standards and to consider the question of individual student responsibility. Student responsibility takes many forms. lt's biggest enemy is the familiar statement, Let Joe do it, or Let Jane do it. Let's make sure we do not fall into this pattern. lt is deadly. lt kills interest in school, fun in school, and pride in attending our school. Activities will continue if the individual gives some of his time. Our teams can be bigger and better if everyone offers his support. Our building will remain in beautiful condition if every student re- members individual responsibility. lt is our sincere desire that each student will accent his new re- sponsibilities and keep Orchard Park Central School a school to be proud of and to always remember.
