OWN AS lck if W 514. presidentg Jack Steisslinger, vice president This school year was an eventful one for all classes. The Seventh Grade promoted a very successful band concert. The Eighth Grade was busy with it's studies, preparing for high school. A football dance was held by the Freshman in the Fall. Something new as tried when the Sophomores sponsored n ice-skating party. The Juniors, again using clever names for dances, had an ex- ceptionally prosperous year topped off by the Junior Prom. The upper classes enthusi- astically supported the operetta. These activities brought each class closer to their common goal-graduation. 8th GRADE-Joanne Ujvari, secretaryg Sydnie Evenden, 7th GRADE-Delbert Engel, president: Thomas Reese trees treasurerg George Randolph, presidentg Lois Young, vice urerg Daniel Frame, vice presidentg Roberta House president. secretary. 32 The unior lass A Mx Q D .,:: .X I ,- . They started like they were unconquerable and then a slump of five straight defeats almost ended all hope. As Orchard Park fans had just about given up, the Quakers again caught fire! This time they went all the way, beating Hamburg in the regular Nelson 1' 4? t. Jerry season final to win the cup for their respective division. The team came to the peak of their ability when they met the Division II, Double A cham- pion, Williamsville. In a game that was expected to be a close one, the spirited Maroon and White played a spectacular team game to win easily. Their record shows that the Freshmen lost their first seven games, but hidden in won-lost column is the fact that they were lost by the un- believable total of 22 points, or an average of a little more than three points a game. After these heartbreakers, the club settled down nicely and all indications point to a good JV team in '56.
