orchard public school orchard, nebraska 1980 dedication We the senior class of 1979-80 wish to dedicate this annual to Mrs. Edith Parkhurst. Mrs. Parkhurst has taught school for 33 years of which she has dedicated 22 years to O.H.S. working as an Elementary teacher. She was the first teacher this senior class had. She herself is a graduate from O.H.S. as are both of her children. Her teacher training she received from Wayne State Teachers college. Her comment on teaching is enjoy working with children and observing their accomplishments as they go on through school and out Into the 2 world. Below them are Sue Holmes and Mike Pruss the most athletic. Troy Phipps and Cyndi Wedgewood were voted rowdiest. Those showing the most talent were Eric Snyder and Lynae Heiss. Denis Cooper and Marcie Curtis were most-likely to succeed. Most intelligent pair were Craig Eley and Dawn Meyer. Jon Meyer and Audrey Carlson received honor as the most talkative twosome. Undermeyer 31 coronation monday nite Homecoming week was held September 17th through the 21st with the coronation of the king and queen on Monday night after a pot luck supper Mike Williamson and Linda Walnofer were crowned the Homecoming King and Queen for 1979-60. The three other queen candidates were Connie Mosel, Shelly Gudensch wager and Lynae Heiss King candidates were Denis Cooper. Mark Hawk and Mike Pruss Monday was also the start of spirit week Students and faculty alike came dressed in their pajamas, bedroom slippers, and they brought their stuffed animals for the first day of the festivities. Round ’em up. Orioles was the theme for Tuesday which brought the jangling of spurs. taH Stetson hats, western jeans, and shirts, and cowboy boots. Wednesday was everyone's favorite day because it was Slop Day. Everyone came in their worst clothes, and by the end of the day the things they came in were nice compared to what they left in Thursday and Friday were school pride day and look your best day in honor of the volleybaU 8c Football games Thursday night was the annual bonfire which was led by the varsity cheerleaders in yeas and speeches On Friday at 2:00 p.m. the Homecoming Parade was presented by the high school and elementary students. At the end of the parade was a pep rally that got everyone pepped up for the big game. To top off the week the Orchard Orioles came off the victors against the Butte Wildcats 36 to 12. And finally Shi o ” played for the Homecoming dance keeping people dancing aH night. 32 initiates homecoming week 33 girls have winning season The Varsity Volleyball team had a 5 and 4 record for regular season games Losses were against Spencer. Petersburgh. Neligh. and St Mary's Victories were against Keya Paha. Verdigre. Bartlet. Niobrara, and Ewing The varsity made second in the Orchard Invitational and was third in the Conference Tournament.
