The cooperation that the Oratory Mothers have shown by freely volunteering their services, time and time again, has indeed proved their generosity toward the school. The annual open house, which they sponsor, is one of the best attended social events of the year. In addition to this, they have held a yearly rallle. As if this were not enough. the Mothers have taken an extra duty upon them- selves to serve refreshments at the various dances and athletic games. Such an account, though incomplete. offers testimony to your unselfishness. Wfithout li- nancial aid, many of the functions here at the school could not have been performed. Therefore, we, the stall of the 1954 Oratorian would like to express our gratitude and that ot all the students of Oratory for a job well done.

They have truly been wonderful in their in- terest and aptitude in learning both the pre- scribed Latin and movements for serving Mass -to say nothing of their willing sacrifice of rec- reation time in order to serve just as quickly and efficiently as possible. On occasions when one one of their number, as a novice in the Sanctu- ary, might have faltered, their moral support was immediately forthcoming, by way of the proverbial stage whisper, which would evoke a smile from all present even to the celebrant him- self. The frequent dialogue Masses in which these children have so joyfully and lustily participated have really been like heavenly music to the ears -and well it might be, for did not Our Blessed Lord say, Of such is the Kingdom of Heaven. Now, while these little fellows will event- ually depart from Oratory, and others will come to take their places, we shall always remember them as we ascend the altar of God and pray that He may, in those words which they have so often repeated, give joy to their youth and ever keep them young in His love and service. f7Ae flafimf CM To enumerate fully the many mediums that our Fathers' Club has chosen in furthering the good of Oratory, would be an impossible feat. Their many activities are so arranged not merely for financial ends, but also, as a means of unit- ing fathers and sons more closely in the same social functions. For the latter purpose, they have held an an- nual Fathers' and Sons' Banquet for many years. The Spaghetti Supper which is held in the fall of the year, is of more recent origin. The com' ing of the Notre Dame University Glee Club is one of the outstanding events of the social year at Oratory. In addition to these activities, they hold an annual raffle, which is always a finan- cial success. The Fathers' Club has also been generous in supplying the money necessary for the scholastic awards that are given each year at graduation. The numerous gifts, both ath- letic and educational, donated to Oratory by the Fathers, demands recognition. In conclusion, we would like to extend our sincerest thanks to you, the Fathers' Club of Oratory, for all that you have done for us.
